Cameron Review

IntroFor this advertisement we had to generate ideas through our brainstorm in order to come up with some creative ideas for our Nike product. Before we could start our print advert or our product advert we had to come up with secondary research from the internet, this involved us searching the web for pictures of our products and how we could use them. We had to plan as a team and have several group discussions however we had to produce storyboards for each scene that we would create.
Our filming process involved our producer in this case It was Shaz me Cameron, as camera man and then Shaz again for props.
Print Advert For our print advert we were focusing on another product that we had to change because of group disagreements so we changed our advertisement product to Nike trainers. Our old products which were Hovis Bread technique was   “unfinished comparison” where we said that “no bread beats Hovis bread” telling people that Hovis made the best bread but without mentioning any other companies that produce bread. Another and last technique we used was persuasion persuading the buyers to purchase the bread and to catch their interest.
Video AdvertFor this assignment we used a technique and compared two products side by side with our Nike shoes. For our print advert I done 6 print ads for our older assignment (Hovis) that we changed later on to Nike. I wanted to do a variety of things a would be eye catching and would work.  For our advertisement technique we used a comparison of two products (two different trainers) and used them to show which one was the best sports wise. I think it was good and worked well because it showed that the new Nike shoes that were shazs were better than the older used Nike shoes that I had. Our idea was to record he’s new shoes kicking a football successful into the net then it was my turn to try and kick the ball into the net but to try and miss to make these old trainer not look good as the others.

Then we needed to arrange a meeting up for our recording location and how we could set up our equipment and how long it would take etc.  Make this 30 second advert we had to buy new Nike trainers and sportswear in order to film this advertisement. This tuck up to 3-4 hours of our time plus our travel hours. We worked well as a group but our attendance was poor and could have completed this assignment a lot faster if we were in and working faster. Then finally we had our video editing to create this advertisement on the 30 second or shorter limit.
I have learnt a lot from this project I have learnt to be patient and more about video editing and how different companies create ads of all sorts and what rolls they are out there that people need in order to create the ads.

Shaz Review

Intro
We were given the option to pick any brand we want produce a 30 second advert on. In order to do this task as fast and good as possible we planned things. We sat down together and did a brainstorm and wrote down all our ideas down on a paper. Then we picked out the best idea out of the whole brainstorm. The next step was planning everything like where we would film it, when, what time, what props we need etc.
Print Advert
For this task I was given a brand (Hovis) on which I had to produce a print advert. To undergo this I planned everything like the story, advertising techniques, slogan and the product. After a lot of thinking I decided to make a fictional advert with a complicated story. Looking back now I think I could have made better decisions and improved a lot by using a different advertising technique and a very simple story or no story at all maybe.
Video Advert
For our Nike advert we decided to use two advertising techniques, comparison and promising a benefit. We decided we would film it at an astro turf in daytime. The reason we picked  all that is because we realised using the two techniques comparison and promising a benefit for a Nike sport advert about shoes is a very good decision, strategically speaking. The reason we picked an astro turf instead of a field was because the astro turf has an over all better look with the perfectly cut grass compared to a field.
For the conduction stage we picked a day, time and place to meet with a camera tripod. Cameron Bailey was the camera man and I was the director and producer.
Looking at the advert now I think we did vey well considering the amount of time we use to create the whole advert. However there were things that went better then others for example the weather couldn’t make its mind up and there were constant sunny intervals. The wind made it hard for us to postion the football in one place for every scene. Things that went well were it did not rain, we had not massive obstacles to undertake like lack of equipment or any sudden changes of plans.
Overall I think we did very well and all went well though I think we can do a lot better next time because we have he experience now which would help us do everything like the planning, choosing equipment etc much easier.
